South Korean alt-pop electronic artist ID:EARTH has dropped the otherworldly new single, ‘ALARM’. Her music is extremely thoughtful, designed to be pieced together like a puzzle with stories about history, myths and philosophy. The musical tapestry she works within is a genre-defying landscape of experimentalism, with clave-driven, tribal drum patterns underscoring hazy synths, an atmospheric flute break and a distant, airy lead vocal. “I was hoping to fulfil the role of waking people up at the start of their day,” she explains. “The song encapsulates the meaning that while the time in space and on earth flows relatively, time itself does not flow.” ‘ALARM’ is taken from her new album, Space Station, which is out now. -Dan Peeke
